If you invested $100 last year in Crypto, how much would you have now?

Let’s play a game! I’ve played this game myself many many times. My first time playing this was when I realized that I made the biggest mistake not investing in Bitcoin in 2020 when I was first getting into buying stocks and crypto. I’m sure everyone who hadn’t purchased before 2021 feels the same way. But let’s take a deep dive into ten different cryptocurrencies, all at different market prices, and see how much we would’ve made if we bought them a year ago today!

Before we start, I want you to mentally prepare yourself. This is not for you to beat yourself up for not knowing what you will know now. I’m sure every investor has had their defining moment of realizing how they missed out on a stock that they thought about buying but chickened out or didn’t care to learn how to purchase it. This is for you to take note, expand your mindset a little on crypto investing, and make educated decisions for yourself moving forward. Also, this is not financial advice and this blog is only for entertainment and informational purposes.

Bitcoin (BTC)

A year ago today, Bitcoin was valued at $8887. Today 1 Bitcoin is worth about $54,500.

If we invested $100 this time last year (0.011 BTC), we would have profited a little over $500.

Ethereum (ETH)

A year ago today, Ethereum was valued at $207.02. Today, 1 ETH is worth about $3,300.

If we invested $100 this time last year (0.48 ETH), we would have profited about $1,480.

Litecoin (LTC)

A year ago today, Litecoin was valued at $47.07. Today, 1 Litecoin is worth about $305.

If we invested $100 this time last year (2.12 LTC), we would have profited about $540.

Cardano (ADA)

A year ago today, Cardano was worth 0.04. Today, 1 Cardano is worth $1.31.

If we invested $100 this time last year (2,500 ADA), we would have profited $3,175.

Polkadot (DOT)

Polkadot stepped on the scene August 19th of 2020 priced at $2.69. Today, 1 DOT is worth $36.12.

If we invested $100 (37.17 DOT), we would have profited about $1,242.

Stellar (XLM)

A year ago today, Stellar Lumens was worth 0.07. Today, 1 XLM is worth $0.51.

If we invested $100 (1,428 XLM), we would have profited about $628.

Chainlink (LINK)

A year ago today, Chainlink was worth $3.77. Today, 1 LINK is worth $46.74.

If we invested $100 (26.5 LINK), we would have profited about $1,138.

Binance (BNB)

A year ago today, Binance coin was worth $17.10. Today, 1 BNB is worth $630.52.

If we invested $100 (5.8 BNB), we would have profited about $3,557.83.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

A year ago today, Bitcoin Cash was worth $246.22. Today, BCH is worth $977.55.

If we invested $100 (0.4 BCH), we would have profited about $292.

Dogecoin (DOGE)

A year ago today, Dogecoin was valued at $0.0025. Less than a cent! Today, DOGE is worth $0.57.

If we invested $100 (40,000 DOGE), we would have profited $22,700.

All ten cryptocurrencies?

And if we invested the full $1,000 and diversified our crypto portfolio by purchasing $100 of each coin mentioned in this article, we would have been $35,252 in profit as of today. $36,252 total equity in cryptocurrency!

I’m sure reading through this was torture to some of my readers. And this was only ten of over 7,000 cryptocurrencies out there as of right now! If you can say that you profited from any or all of these one year gains, you’re awesome and you should be proud of yourself! I’ve made some gains myself just by entering the market only a couple of months ago! For the rest of us, we only know what we know today and we can’t beat ourselves up about it. But our future selves are now at an advantage, because we know what the power of investing truly holds and the potential of how cryptocurrency could change our lives if it continues to the uptrend!
